Job sheets, AI quotes, the booking book, parts and customer messages brought together in one online program for independent garages across Ireland. Your VAT goes on each invoice; the return to Revenue is still yours to make.
The actual Quotes screen: search by reg or name, narrow by status and open the AI assessment for any job.
Running a garage off bits of paper and several apps loses you work. Lifts, bookings and the day's takings together.
Each fault starts from a blank sheet, and anyone left waiting for a price tries another garage in the town.
A price goes out, no one rings to see if they're going ahead, and the lift you held for it sits idle.
VAT on every docket, receipts for the accountant, returns coming due and another subscription on the card. Time away from the cars.
A garage in Galway and one in Drogheda share the same day: the phone goes, a car is left in with the keys, parts arrive, the customer rings back with a yes, and the bill is paid. Promec keeps all of that on one job, with invoices in euro carrying your VAT number and the rate for each line.
Promec does not link to Revenue. Your VAT returns keep going through ROS, your accounts package or your accountant, and the program does not submit anything on your behalf. A direct connection to a tax authority is only available in Spain, Mexico, Argentina, Chile and Colombia at the moment. Better said plainly here than discovered later.
The call, the car left in, the go-ahead, the repair and the payment are all kept on the one job sheet, nothing copied between systems.
Put in what the customer described or read the fault codes, and the AI works out the probable repair, then costs it using your hourly charge, your parts prices and your own list of jobs.
Texts, WhatsApp and email are sent from the job, and each customer has a link to see how the car is getting on and give the go-ahead for extra work.
Each invoice shows your VAT number, the next number in sequence and the rate on every line, since repair labour and some parts are not always charged at the same rate. Income and costs are recorded as you go. The VAT return to Revenue is not sent from Promec: it stays with ROS or your accountant.
Promec explains the OBD codes read from the car, keeps count of new and second-hand parts in the stores, and holds the repair documents your mechanics need.
Fill the booking book, move jobs around the planner when a part doesn't turn up and see how many hours each mechanic really gets done. Mechanics mark their work on a phone.
You get all of the below whichever of the three plans you take.
The garage phone runs through Promec, so you can see the calls you missed and a short summary of each call is saved to the customer.
Customers leave their car in themselves while you finish the job on the lift.
Promotions are sent to the customers and cars already on your system, so there's no separate list to look after.
Clocking in, annual leave and staff records kept beside the jobs.
What stops most garages changing system is worry about the changeover. The video lessons are there to get staff comfortable quickly.
The figures the owner looks at every week, and a record of who changed what.
Clocking in, photos of the car, the job notes and the customer's signature are done right at the vehicle. Each step updates the job page that the customer is looking at.
Each customer has their own page with where the job stands, the quote to approve, the documents and live video from the garage camera.
Customers log in, add their cars, look back at past repairs and get a reminder before the next service or NCT. The bookings come from people who've been in to you before.
Requests from your website come in with the car and the problem already given, ready to be priced.
The AI answers with a price while the customer is still ringing other garages.
NCT coming up, a service due or an oil change: the reminder brings the car back without anyone lifting the phone.
Each finished job is followed by a request for a review, so people nearby find you more easily.
The NCT sets a predictable rhythm. Private cars are first tested at four years old, then every two years, and every year once they pass their tenth anniversary, with the date counted from first registration. Promec doesn't test cars or book NCT slots, but it records the due date on each car, reminds the owner and gives you the chance to do a pre-NCT check and quote any work on the same job.
VAT on repairs isn't a single rate. Revenue applies the reduced rate to genuine vehicle repair and maintenance, while some items fitted in the course of a repair, including tyres and batteries, go at the standard rate. Promec lets you set the rate line by line; the return is still made through ROS or by your accountant.
Customer details come under the GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, overseen by the Data Protection Commission. Promec only messages the contact details a customer has agreed to, and each message is saved against that customer, so an access request is easy to answer.

Ask us if it's up and running in your county. Where it is, we can switch on regular requests from private motorists near the garage. You decide which jobs to take and what to charge, rather than relying on insurance or fleet work.

Customers, cars and past work are brought over while the old system keeps doing the invoices.
Your hourly charge is set and the AI prices a real job.
Customers watch the job and approve extra work on the phone.
AI quotes and WhatsApp reminders go out without you.
Get an export from the system you have now and our team puts it into Promec. You carry on invoicing from the old one until the new setup has been checked.
Data transfer may carry additional costs depending on the source system and data volume. See terms.
Start with 3 months for €1 and cancel whenever you like from your subscription area. Pick your billing cycle above.
Prices exclude VAT, for businesses and self-employed. €1 in total for the first 3 months, taxes included. From the fourth month the chosen plan is billed automatically. No lock-in: you can cancel before that date. You also have a 15-day money-back withdrawal right. Calls and WhatsApp usage are billed separately.
Plenty of garages still run on a job sheet under the wiper, a diary at the desk and a lot of remembering. Each module takes one of those over. Here's what it does and what to have to hand when you begin.
The job is opened from the reg. The mileage, what the customer says is wrong, any marks on the car and a few photos from the phone go on straight away. After that the parts ordered, the hours put in and the customer's go-ahead all stay on that job, whoever took the keys at the desk. To hand: reg, chassis number if you have it, the customer's billing details and your hourly charge.
A quote is made up of labour and parts lines and sent as a link, and the customer accepts or turns it down from there. Once accepted it becomes the job, with nothing typed twice. When the car is finished the invoice is produced from the job with the next number in sequence, your VAT number and the rate on each line. To hand: your invoice numbering, the VAT rates you use for labour and parts, prices for standard jobs and how customers usually pay.
Each part number has its shelf, cost, selling price and a minimum quantity. Putting a part on a job takes it off stock, and once it drops under the minimum it goes on the order list. Supplier dockets are checked against what was ordered, so you can see what's paid for, what hasn't arrived and what has been sitting there for months. To hand: a list of parts with cost and selling price, your factors and one stock count.
Each booking goes on a lift and a mechanic with the time it should take, so you can tell if Wednesday is really free before telling a customer the car will be ready. Online bookings go into the same book, and cars waiting on parts are still visible without holding up a lift. To hand: number of lifts, opening hours, your mechanics and how long your usual jobs take.
The customer is told when the quote is ready, when work begins and when the car is ready for collection, by text, WhatsApp or email as they chose. Service reminders and NCT reminders go out before the due date, and every message is saved with the customer. To hand: contact details the customer agreed to, and each car's NCT due date.
Sales for any period, what you make on labour against parts, quotes given against quotes accepted, how full the lifts are and the type of work coming in, all from jobs already entered. Two questions it settles fast: is your hourly charge covering the overheads, and which parts are you selling for less than they're worth? To hand: nothing more.
Send whatever export your current program can give, and we tidy it first (a customer on twice, one part with three names). It's loaded into a test copy so you can check the invoice numbers and the stock, and then you set up lifts, charges and who sees what. For the first few days invoices are raised in Promec while the old program is kept only for looking things up, and the desk, the mechanics and the office are each shown how it works on real jobs. You can take your data out at any time, including if you leave.
No. There is no link between Promec and Revenue, and nothing is filed through ROS from the program. Promec produces the invoices with your VAT number and the rate on each line, and keeps the sales and costs behind them, so your accountant has what's needed. Direct connections to a tax authority only exist in Spain, Mexico, Argentina, Chile and Colombia.
Yes, each invoice line takes the rate you set. Revenue treats genuine repair and maintenance of vehicles at the reduced rate, while certain items supplied during a repair, such as tyres, batteries and mirrors, are at the standard rate. Check Revenue's current rates and your accountant's view before you set them up.
Yes. Put the NCT due date on the car and Promec reminds the customer ahead of it on the channel they agreed to. Promec doesn't carry out or book the test itself; the due date comes from the car's first registration, and the NCTS lets owners check it by reg.
No. The first three months cost €1, and after that you can cancel whenever you want from your subscription area. There's a 15-day money-back period as well.
Yes. Promec's price list is published in euro, and the invoices you send your own customers are in euro too, unless you set a different currency.
Yes. Send us the export from your system (customers, cars, quotes, invoices) and our team tidies it and loads it in. Bringing your data in is included; some source systems or very large amounts of data can cost extra, as the terms explain.
€1 for the first three months, no contract to tie you in, 15 days to get your money back and your data brought over.
Write to us and we'll show you how Promec can help. No obligation.
